Dei Verbum Privacy Policy
Effective August 1, 2026
Dei Verbum is a Catholic Bible reading and listening app developed by Daniel Piotr Cywinski. This policy explains how the app handles information.
Information stored on your device
The app stores reading position, listening position, preferences, and related app settings locally on your device. Dei Verbum does not require an account, and this locally stored information is not uploaded to a developer-operated user database.
Optional online features
When you request an AI-assisted Catholic explanation or Studio Narration, the selected Scripture passage or text and settings needed to fulfill the request—such as language, edition, and voice—are sent securely to Dei Verbum's service and to OpenAI for processing. These features are optional. Requests to OpenAI are made with storage disabled, and Dei Verbum does not maintain a database containing the request text or generated response.
A random app-install identifier, and technical information such as an IP address, may be processed to operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce rate limits, diagnose failures, and protect security. Infrastructure providers may retain limited security or operational logs under their own policies and legal obligations.
Purchases
Optional tips are processed by Apple through the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment-card details. Apple handles purchase information under Apple's privacy policy.
Sharing, tracking, and advertising
Dei Verbum does not sell personal information, use data for cross-app tracking, or display third-party advertising. Information is shared only with service providers as needed to deliver optional online features, process App Store purchases, maintain security, or comply with law.
Service providers
- Apple: App Store distribution and optional in-app purchases.
- Cloudflare: secure hosting, network delivery, rate limiting, and security.
- OpenAI: processing optional AI explanations and Studio Narration.
Children
Dei Verbum does not knowingly collect personal information from children and does not provide accounts, social features, advertising, or user-to-user communication.
Your choices
You may use the Bible reading and compatible on-device listening features without using optional AI services. You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app. For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer at daniel@cywinskidigital.com.
Changes
This policy may be updated when app features or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are made.
